About Lee

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Lee's love for the ocean began during childhood holidays at beachfront hotels in Cocoa Beach, Florida. White, powdery sand, warm water, and inviting waves ignited his lifelong passion for the ocean. The stretch of coast had the state’s best surf and he began riding rented boards.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, and political science at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Lee earned a liberal arts degree at Thomas Aquinas College. The Great Books school in Santa Paula, California, focused on primary works in philosophy, mathematics, and theology.

The campus was close to the surf and during breaks in his studies, he honed his surfing and explored the points, reefs, and beach breaks along Ventura County and beyond.

Lee remained on the Southern California coast and works a block from the beach at the neurosurgical device maker he co-owns.
